Menorca is the second largest and quietest
of the Balearic Islands, yet it boasts more beaches than the rest of the

| Cala Galdana has a curved sandy
beach framed by pine-studded limestone cliffs. Here it is possible to hire
water scooters and windsurfing boards. Snorkelling tackle is available
and small boats offer trips to other more secluded beaches nearby. |

Fornells is a short drive from Villa Tranquilo and is a classically
pretty fishing village famous for its selection of seafood resturants. Here
wind surfing and scuba diving are avaliable. Or why not just stroll along
the waterfront enjoying and checking out the boats moored in the harbour,
before selecting the ideal place for a relaxed lunch. |
| Ciutadella is an exquisite little
town, where a tangle of narrow streets radiate out from the Placa d'es Born,
a tree shaded square and gathering place for locals. This is the old capital
to the west of the Island and offers cosmopolitan shops, cafe bars, tree
lined streets and a variety of stylish shops and restuants as does the present
capital Mahan based on the east coast of the Island. |

Monte Toro at 357m, is the islands highest
point offering wonderful views of the whole island on a clear day. Here
there is a handsome courtyard, gift shops, a delightful terrace
cafe with more beautiful views and a lovely church dating from 1595. |
| Menorca is wonderfully rich is wild flowers
and birds. The common mastic bush, Pistacia lentiscus is seen everywhere
growing out of walls, across footpaths and in the fields. Other bushes and
shrubs seen are myrtle juniper, wilde olive and fig. The pine is the most
common tree, the Aleppo pine is seen around Son Parc and gives you welcome
shade in the villas garden. |

Cala en Porter is a lively family
resort on the south coast with a beautiful popular beach having all the
usual facilities of sun loungers, pedaloes and family friendly restaurants.
The Cora d'en Xoroi is a large cave high up on the cliff-face reached by
a stairway offering stunning views along the coast. At night a club and
bar offer fun and entertainment through to the small hours. |
